Craig Elliott admits he’s got some ‘tough decisions’ to make every time Boston United take to the pitch.

Strong summer recruitment has seen the Pilgrims boss left with an embarrassment of riches in his squad, and competition for places in every position.

While that bodes well for a season where action has been condensed into eight months, Elliott is also left with the tough task of selecting his matchday squads.

Last Saturday’s 4-2 FA Cup win over AFC Mansfield was followed up by Tuesday’s 4-0 victory at National League North rivals Leamington.

He made five changes for the midweek contest, and further tweaks could take place today as fellow table toppers Guiseley arrive at the Northolme.“We’ve got a good squad. I’ve got decisions to make and it’s not easy,” Elliott said.

“There are lads on the bench (at Leamington) who have done well and I’m sure a few of them are upset.

“But they realise it’s all about the team, the squad. We pull together and everybody plays their part.

“I’m looking for people to push each other. It’s about winning games.”
