Boston United will run the rule over Scott Garner's injury ahead of today's clash with Kidderminster Harriers, although Jake Wright will be sidelined.

Garner missed Tuesday night's win over Brackley due to a calf problem.

Manager Craig Elliott opted to rest the defender rather than risk making his injury any worse, and will check up on the recent signing ahead of kick off.

"I'm hoping it's nothing serious," Elliott said.

"It was a 50-50 whether I started him and I just felt I'd rather him miss one or two games rather than five or six games.

"I would imagine (he will be fit for Blyth Spartans next Saturday, if not today).

"He wanted to play but Hayden (Clifton, sports therapist) was concerned about a muscle injury.

"With Simon Ainge on the bench it would be daft to risk anything."

Wright will not be available for the Pilgrims on Saturday as he continues to nurse his injured shoulder.

“We’re hoping he’ll be back in two or three weeks,” Elliott added.

“It’s ligament damage and not a break, which is fairly good news under the circumstances.”

United beat Harriers 3-1 at Aggborough earlier this season, and Elliott is plotting a further three points.

However, he doesn't believe things will be easy for his Pilgrims.

"I always think full time teams should be good teams," he added.

"They're well organised and have a manager (Jimmy Shan) who was in the Championship last year.

"We went there and beat them well 3-1 last time but it's a different type of game.

"We just need to get back to playing well at home, that's my only concern.

"The last two or three games we've not been at the levels we want to be at."
