Boston United’s scheduled National League North fixture against Darlington has been postponed.

The Pilgrims were due to host the Quakers at York Street on Saturday.

However, Darlington beat Solihull Moors 1-0 in their FA Trophy replay this evening, which means they will now meet Harrogate Town in a second-round contest instead.

United boss Craig Elliott said he had no preference whether the contest was to go ahead or not, stating it was up to him to ‘pick and choose matches’.

However, with Jake Wright, Alex Whittle, Alex Penny and Andi Thanoj all injury doubts, a blank weekend may in fact be welcome relief for the Pilgrims.

A new date for United versus Darlington is yet to be arranged.
