Boston United will kick off their National League North campaign on Saturday as they host Spennymoor Town. Pilgrims boss Craig Elliott has spent the summer adding to and fine tuning his squad of 23. Here, the manager talks us through the players at his disposal... (Photos by Oliver Atkin)
5. Scott Garner - defender
"He's a leader in the dressing room and on the pitch, also a good lad to have around the place. He loves the club and he's also a very good defender."
6. Luke Shiels - defender
"He has been outstanding on and off the pitch and, as the captain, he sets the high standards for the rest of the team. He has played a major part in us having a very strong defensive record."
7. Andi Thanoj - midfielder
"He can come across as a very laid back character, but he's also someone who wants to win. Andi is one of those players who can find the passes we need to unlock defences, and he's also a very dangerous presence from dead ball situations."
8. Paul Green - midfielder
"He's a freak of nature. He might bring the average age of the squad up but he's one of the fittest players in the squad. It's not a shock he plays to the levels he does at his age as he's so professional."
