Brad Abbott leaves Boston United for Northern Premier League club

Brad Abbott has become the latest player to leave Boston United.

The dynamic midfielder - who made 106 appearances and scored 13 goals since joining from Buxton in December 2017 - has joined Northern Premier League Grantham Town.

“I just want to say thank you to everyone involved with Boston United,” the 25-year-old, who played in this season’s play-off final defeat to Altrincham, wrote on Twitter.

“I’ve enjoyed every minute of playing at this great club.

“Gutted we couldn’t get the job done this season but for me personally it’s time for a new challenge. I wish the club nothing but success going forward.”

Abbott was offered a new deal by the Boston but opted to move to the Gingerbreads, where he will link up with ex-Pilgrims Ben and Harry Middleton.
