Boston United’s Scheduled National League North contest at Curzon Ashton will not go ahead on Saturday due to the hosts opting not to play.

The Nash are one of 13 clubs who signed a statement yesterday issuing concerns about continuing the season without grants and Covid tests.

The National League North and South have been suspended for a fortnight due to the funding row, but action was due to resume this weekend.

A statement from Curzon Ashton read: “This evening we have written to the National League to confirm that we will not be able to participate in fixtures until a decision is reached with regards to how the remainder of the season will be concluded.

“The safety of our players, staff, volunteers and directors is of primary concern and until we are able to confirm how we can comply with current Covid-19 testing requirements for elite clubs, we do not want to put anyone at risk.

”The next two fixtures (versus Boston on Saturday and Hereford on Tuesday) will therefore not go ahead as planned.“
