Although Brown has seen sweeping changes to the playing staff since then, he believes that there is enough talent in the team for the side to go far.

However, he was quick to stress that Rome wasn’t built in a day.

“Of course this team can come back and do well,” he said.

“But it’s a new team. It’s not going to come that quickly.

“Look at Man United, they started the season wanting to win the league and they’re not doing it yet.

“I’m not comparing us to them, but new teams at any level take time to get things right.

“Hopefully when we do click we’ll be unstoppable.”

Brown began the season sidelined with injury after picking up a thigh strain in pre-season.

However, he has now featured in the past three Pilgrims contests.
