"Obviously, we have had mixed results over the past couple of games and I could just tell before the game the lads fancied it and were up for it," said manager Joe Greswell.

"I’m hopeful now we can have a good run of games and can keep these sort of performances up.

"We will enjoy the win as Moorlands are a very good side, but now we turn our attention to the Lincs Junior Cup semi on Saturday and make sure we are right and go there and get the job done."

Butler scored the opening goal of the afternoon following a great Nicky Frost cross which was pushed out by the keeper.

Unfortunately, for the Moorlands stopper, the ball landed to Butler's feet and he fired home.

Wyberton's second goal was again assisted by Frost, Pogson meeting his corner at the back post.

The second goal kicked Moorlands into life with keeper James Doughty called upon to make a double save and Janson Pinner cleared a headed effort off the line.

Will Britton burst through the Moorlands defence but his effort hit the post, Jamie Elston unable to convert the rebound.

After the interval, Moorlands pulled one back from the penalty spot, which set up a nervous final five minutes.

However, the Colts saw the game out and booked their place in the semis.

Wyberton have added Theo Nicholson and Jack Bastow to their first-team squad.

"They are two players (A team boss) James Payling rates highly and, with a few injuries, they will no doubt get their chance in the coming weeks," Greswell added.

Wyberton travel to Nettleham for their county cup semi-final on Saturday (KO 1.30pm).
