Caistor Techys were presented with their league winners’ trophy, and CTFC received their runners-up prize.

Bottom of the League got the new campaign under way against NK Dons and had to play the whole game a player short.

Keeper and man-of-the-match David Chuck put in a superb performance to hold NK Dons at bay and grab a share of the points in a 0-0 draw.

CTFC, hoping to go one better and finish in top spot this season, opened against Grey and Young Ones.

Paul Lockington put in another man-of-the-match display as he helped his team to a comprehensive 8-0 rout.

They must have thought the result would leave them top after week one, but Caistor Techys were also in fine form and destroyed last season’s surprise package Young Prospects, 11-3.

Kieran Togher starred in the comprehensive win which put them back on top on goals scored.

The final game of the evening saw newcomers Christies Youth take on last season’s bottom-placed team Crusaders.

Christies started well and took the lead, but their stamina could not hold up as Crusaders, with a season under their belt took charge in the second half.

Ryan Parkinson earned the man-of-the-match award for an excellent performance as they kicked off the season with a 4-2 win.
