Sinnott and his assistant, John Rees, released seven players and offered terms to a further seven as they prepared for life in the EvoStik League after the Holy Blues’ first ever relegation.

Striker Jarman scored vital goals in his three years at the club, including several a year ago to preserve their National League North status.

After hearing the news Jarman thanked people at the club for their support.

Posting on social media, he said: “Thank you and goodbye to the Trinity faithful.

“I want to thank everyone behind the scenes too — there are far too many to mention.”

Jarman also paid tribute to the managers he played under at the Northolme.

“Nothing but respect and admiration for you all,” he wrote.

“What a brilliant family club. I will miss you all.”

Also released were Ellis Storey, Josh Lacey, Curtis Bateson, Charlie Gatter, Thomas Davie and Michael Jacklin.

Sinnott said: “I have said on a weekly basis (since I came in February) that I have been unable to fault the players’ application.

“Bbut the situation of relegation means we have to change things.

“We wish the players all the best for the coming seasons and thank them for their service to Gainsborough Trinity.”

New terms have been offered to Ashley Worsfold, Alex Simmons, Ioan Evans, Liam King, Shane Clarke, Nicky Walker, Nathan Stainfield and Jordan Richards.

The club also thanked loan players who have returned to their parents clubs — Henrich Ravas (Derby County), Brandon Fleming (Hull City), Ben Hinchliffe (Hull City), Brad Beatson (Boston United) and Jack Vann (Harrogate Town).
