Craig Elliott 'loves' Brackley Town, but wants Boston United to claim three points as two sides on nine-game unbeaten runs clash

Craig Elliott says he 'loves' Brackley Town's approach to football - but he's plotting to repeat last season's home win against the Saints.

Boston United will be looking to take their unbeaten run into double figures on Saturday at the Jakemans Community Stadium (KO 3pm).

But Brackley - who sit a point and a place above Boston in the play-off spots, having played a game more - arrive in Lincolnshire also undefeated in nine games, a run that also includes a shootout defeat to Chesterfield in the FA Trophy.

Elliott admits he is a keen admirer of Kevin Wilkins' side and their ability to be constants near the top end of the National League North table.

"They make me laugh, Brackley. It always feels like they haven't won that many games and then you look at the league table and they're right up there.

"I love Brackley, they do what you should do in this league. They're good in both boxes and don't care whether they're entertaining - they want to win games of football.

"It'll be a tough game, I'm sure about that."

Despite Wednesday's penalty shootout defeat, the Pilgrims are now unbeaten in nine games over 90 minutes.

However, following three draws, Elliott has stated his attackers need to be more potent.

"We're on a good run, but you've got to say it's the defensive side that's on a good run," the United manager added.

"We went to Farsley and blew them away (4-0) but we've just got to do more. We won't get many chances against Brackley and it's critical we take them."

United secured their first-ever home win against Brackley as the two sides met at York Street for the final time last season.

Despite the visitors peppering the Pilgrims' goal, Dominic Knowles scored the winner at the death.

"I'd take it again, but I'm not sure about the performance again," Elliott added.

"I think my eyes were closed for most of that. We got the win against them at home and drew away last year, which were good results for us."

Despite clubs being in talks with the National League about ways to complete the season after Government grants ended in December, it has been stated that this weekend's fixtures will go ahead.
