Darlington charged by National League for failing to fulfil Boston United fixture

Darlington have been charged by the National League for failing to fulfil their fixture with Boston United this week.

"The club has been informed by the Vanarama National League that it has been charged under League Membership rule 8.39 for failing to fulfill the home game against Boston on Tuesday, We are in the process of responding," the Quakers announced.

Boston were due to head to the north east on Tuesday to replay the contest which was abandoned in November due to an injury to Darlington defender Nicky Hunt.

But the Quakers announced they would not be fulfilling the fixture due to being 'misled' by the National League.

Curzon Ashton have also been charged for opting not to face the Pilgrims this season.
