Woodhall Spa United caused a bit of an upset when the Divison One side, languishing in the bottom half of the table, put Premier strugglers Kirton Town out of the competition.

Town could have opened the scoring after 10 minutes but the crossbar came to Woodhall’s rescue. Jack Draper returned to the home line-up and he fired home a superbly struck opener from 18 yards out.

Andy Money hit Woodhall’s second goal when his shot from the edge of the box squirmed its way into the net.

Kirton did pull a goal back and Woodhall had to be at their most stubborn in defence during the final 10 minutes, as they found themselves on the back foot, but they held out for a fine home win.
