During the evening Keith Lowman, the team’s manager for 20 years, announced his retirement from senior football.

After hanging his boots up and retiring from playing football, following a long and distinguished playing career, one of the most respected people in the local game turned his attention to management.

In 1996, Keith ventured into football management by entering a Wragby under-9s side into the Mid Lincs Youth League. He continued in the subsequent years, progressing the side through to under-16 level.

In 2004, with the nucleus of his young side now developing into young men, Keith entered a Wragby FC team into the Sills and Betteridge Lincoln Sunday League.

During the period between then and 2016, and with the addition of a few more senior and experienced players, Keith has progressed Wragby FC into being one of the best village teams in local football, reaching four cup finals along the way.

Keith’s retirement will not only be a sad loss to Wragby FC but a loss to local football in general, as his knowledge, experience and commitment will be sadly missed by all.
