“It was a fantastic experience,” said Matt. “It was great to see how the games are built and how the programme runs. I had a great time - apart from the game that I struggled with!”

He continued: “It was just amazing to get on there and have a go. I’m not losing any sleep over the challenge I failed on, because I went in there with nothing and came out with £10,000.”

Matt faced a number of challenges on the show, including a reaction-testing game, a game of putting balls in a cylinder and one where he was blindfolded and had to manoeuvre his way around The Cube without touching the red zone.

So what was it like to meet light TV legend and mums’ favourite Phillip Schofield?

“He was a really nice guy and so welcoming,” said Matt.

“He really put me at ease and I just can’t say enough nice things about him.”
