In-form skipper says it’s all coming together nicely
Mettam himself has netted 10 in 12 outings this season, including a stunning brace in Saturday’s FA Cup win.
The in-form skipper told the Guardian: “I’m quite pleased, I had a slow start getting to know the players around me and playing in a three up top – but it’s starting to work.”

“We’re cutting teams open for fun and taking our chances.”
The former Gainsborough forward has already reached the pre-Christmas target he set himself, and is well on his way to a 25-goal season.
He credited the work of midfielder Conor Higginson and targetman Tom Denton, as instrumental in helping him score goals.
“Dents is a battering ram for us, he takes all the lumps and bumps and kicks from centre-halves so that Jack Muldoon and I can do what we do.”

“And Conor is very direct, the way he runs at people opens up space and leaves us to make our runs, it creates a lot of chances.”
