Former Gainsborough Trinity winger makes USA move

Former Gainsborough Trinity winger Jordan Adebayo-Smith has moved stateside after signing for the Tampa Bay Rowdies.

The Florida-based Rowdies play in the USL Championship, the second tier of the USA s soccer pyramid.

California-born Adebayo-Smith joined the Holy Blues on loan from Lincoln City last season, having previous spells with Lincolnshire rivals Grantham Town and Boston United while with the Red Imps.

“It is difficult living so far away from home, but the staff and players were all so welcoming when I arrived,” Adebayo-Smith told the Rowdies' website.

“I am delighted to play for the Tampa Bay Rowdies, an amazing club that will give me the opportunity to develop my abilities on and off the field.

"The Rowdies have an incredible fan base, quality coaches and players, and I hope to help bring another championship to the team in 2021.”
