GAMES ON! Boston United and Boston Town to play matches this weekend amidst Coronavirus outbreak

Boston United and Boston Town will play their scheduled matches on Saturday, despite some leagues cancelling games due to the Coronavirus.

All games in England's Premier League, EFL, FA Women's Super League and Women's Championship have been postponed.

However, some divisions, will continue.

United will travel to face Chester in the National League North.

A National League statement read: "Following a board meeting held today, the National League has decided to allow matches in its three divisions to proceed as planned this weekend.

"The National League will keep the operation of its competition under constant and diligent review, and will remain in compliance with government advice at all times.

"The Football Association has offered its guidance, and made it clear the decision to continue or to suspend a competition is a matter for each league to make.

"The National League places the welfare and well-being of all those involved in and connected to its competition as the highest priority."

Town, meanwhile, shared a statement from the United Counties League.

It read: "The UCL have spoken with an FA executive this morning (13 March 2020). At this point there are no plans to cancel, postpone or to play games behind closed doors.

"Although the situation remains fluid and government guidance could change at any point, all games in the UCL will go ahead as planned unless external forces dictate otherwise.

"The UCL will continue to liaise with the governing body to provide necessary leadership."

The Poachers host Shepshed Dynamo on Saturday.
