Boston Town want to give their fans something to cherish during lockdown.

The Poachers host Lincolnshire rivals Pinchbeck United in the United Counties League Premier tonight - in what will be the club's final game for at least four weeks as non-elite football will not continue during lockdown. And after five consecutive defeats, manager Gary Edgley is desperate to earn a victory for everyone to enjoy over the coming weeks.

"I apologised to some them other day (following Saturday's Desborough defeat)," he said.

"They're giving up their time to watch the club and they've watched Boston for many years.

"I feel bad for them as we're not giving them the performances they deserve.

"The support we have is very good, so it'd be nice if we could sign off and give them something to cheer about before lockdown. They deserve that."

Town thrashed Pinchbeck 7-0 in September but Edgley expects a different game now that former Spalding United boss Lewis Thorogood has the reins.

"Everybody wants to win the game before lockdown because if you don't it'll be screaming down your ears for four weeks," Edgley added.

"It's a local derby, we've said this before about having ton win your local games.

"We beat Pinchbeck before comprehensively, but that's out the window as they've got new management in there now.

"I know Lewis has not had an awful lot of time with the players, but you'd think they would possibly be better than when we played them last time, and we're not firing like we were last time."

Kick off at the DWB Stadium is at 7.45pm.
