Boston United will discover their FA Cup opponents this afternoon - and Craig Elliot want to get the excitement back.

The Pilgrims would love to repeat last year’s heroics as they reached the second round before losing 2-1 to League One Rochdale in a replay.

However, manager Craig Elliott doesn’t have any preferences about who his side face.

“Like last year, you just take it as it comes. You can’t control it,” he said.

”Fingers crossed we can get through a few more rounds. The main thing is to get that excitement going again.”

Last season’s run saw Elliott and chairman David Newton among a Pilgrims contingent interviewed on the BBC during the second round draw at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium.

While United would love to progress that far, things may be a little different this year.

“I’m not sure we'll be getting called up again, it’ll probably be on zoom this year.”

United reached the third qualifying round after beating AFC Mansfield 4-2 on Saturday.

The draw will be announced at 1pm today.

Boston banked £3,375 on Saturday with the winners earning £5,625 next round.
