U14s Divisional Cup

Wrawby 2

Gainsborough Trinity 14s 3

TRINITY U14s made the journey to Brigg at the weekend to take on rivals Wrawby Rovers in the Divisional Cup with a small squad due to illness.

However, they started the first half very strong, but their efforts were in vain as Wrawby found the back of Trinity’s net in the first 10 minutes.

But all wasn’t lost as five minutes later Trinity’s forward Corey Drummond found the space and chipped Wrawby’s keeper to put the visitors back on equal terms.

Trinity forward Brandon Scrimshaw then made it 2-1 before the interval with an excellent strike.

The second half started well with both teams fighting for the win with the introduction of Spencer Hare to Trinity’s midfield.

Wrawby pushed for the equaliser and with only two minutes left of the match they found it and took this cup game into extra time.

Extra time was in Trinity’s favour as they played the better football on the day, and when a great through ball played by left back Craig Andrews found forward Scrimshaw it was all over for Wrawby and took the final score to Trinity 3, Wrawby 2,
