Just two places separate the 10th-placed Saints and the Pilgrims, in 12th spot.

But ahead of Saturday’s clash at the Jakemans Stadium (KO 3pm), the Boston United boss knows his next opponents have a strong pedigree this campaign.

He said: “Brackley’s a lot, lot stronger this year to previous years.

“They’ve got a few of the players who won the league with Solihull last year in their squad.

“They drew with Fylde and beat Halifax comfortably.”

Saturday’s 2-2 FA Cup draw at Gillingham stretched Brackley’s unbeaten run to nine matches.

Boston will be without Jason St Juste this Saturday.

The winger - who is serving a one-match ban - is also away on Caribbean Cup qualifying duty with St Kitts and Nevis, taking on Haiti in a re-arranged game on Sunday.
