Housham has help

STEVE Housham has drafted in former team-mate Lee Warren as his new assistant on the Northolme.

The pair played together at Barrow and Housham believes the former Hull and Doncaster Rovers defender will bring a wealth of experience to the club.

He said: “He was assistant to me at Brigg a few years ago and we played together at Barrow.”

“He knows this league and leagues above us as well, he’s got great experience and it is good to have someone like Lee around.”

The 42-year-old, who also had a brief loan spell at neighbours Lincoln City in his career, will be heavily involved in training and on matchdays but will not be paid by the club.

Housham added: “He’s a good friend of mine and he could see the problems we had against Hinckley today.”

“Lee’s coming down to help but he’s not on the payroll.”

“We’ll assess it over the next few weeks but Lee is here during training and on matchdays now.”

Meanwhile, the club have signed experienced left-back Lee Ridley on an 18-month contract from Grimsby Town and young goalkeeper Michael Emery has joined from Skegness Town on a short-term deal.
