Tonight the Greens will be looking to stretch their winning start to the season to four consecutive victories as they travel to face Holbeach United in the United Counties League Premier Division.

But Saturday will pose an equally tantalising contest as Town host Stamford in the FA Cup’s preliminary round.

Tom Roberts’ Tigers are also unbeaten, having defeated Swaffham in the FA Cup, winning 1-0 at near rivals Yaxley and drawing 2-2 with Cogenhoe United at the weekend.

Tonight’s kick off at Carter’s Park will be at 7.45pm.

Meanwhile, Graham Drury’s Evo-Stik Northern Premier Division One Daniels will prove a stern test at Eslaforde Park in the FA Cup (KO 3pm), with the winners collecting £1,925.

Stamford began their season with a 3-1 defeat to Witton Albion and faced Rugby last night.

However, Drury has put together a side which expected to begin the season a division higher, and are believed to be a force this campaign.

The winners of the FA Cup competition will then face St Neots Town in the first qualifying round, with £3,000 up for grabs.

Sleaford began their season with a 1-0 FA Cup success at Fakenham, thanks to David Hone’s matchwinning finish which banked £1,500 in prize money.

That success was swiftly built upon by two UCL Premier wins.

Last Wednesday Hone, who received his marching orders in the cup game following two yellow cards, was on target again as the first game of the season at Eslaforde Park saw the Greens defeat fellow Yellowbellies Deeping Rangers 1-0.

And on Saturday, Town made it three wins from three with a 3-1 success at Wellingborough.

Hone was again on target, netting the third after Ryan Oliver’s penalty and Peter Sutton’s finish had put the Greens in front.
