"I think a lot of players will move up!" Boston United in talks with players from inactive step three clubs

Craig Elliott hasn't ruled out raiding step three clubs to add to his Boston United squad.

All levels of football below the National League North are currently on hold in lockdown as they are not deemed elite sport, which is leaving plenty of talented players inactive.

Kettering Town handed a debut to Liam Hughes in Tuesday's draw at the Jakemans Community Stadium after the Matlock Town attacker linked up with them on a short-term loan deal.

And Elliott expects plenty of teams will be checking the availability of players in the Northern Premier League, Southern League and Isthmian League.

"I'm having a look and in talks with a few players as we speak," the Pilgrims boss said.

"There's a lot of good players in the league below. It's their careers and their time, they want to play football.

"I think a lot of players will move up to this division."

Elliott says that a goalscorer remains top of his shopping list, but he won't me rushed into any decisions.

"We still need a proper striker, if the right one comes along," he added.

"Other than that we've got a really nice balance in the squad. There's still a lot of games in the season left as well.

"I'm happy where we are."
