'I'm seriously thinking about calling it a day!' Boston United manager Dennis Greene says he is ready to quit the club
Boston United boss Dennis Greene says he is considering quitting the club.
Following today’s 4-1 home defeat to FC Halifax United, the manager dropped the bombshell, suggesting he can’t take the club any further.

“It’s my fault because I brought these players into the football club. It’s deflating,” he said after braces from Tom Denton and Alex Simmons bettered Jay Rollins’ response.
“I’m seriously thinking about calling it a day.
“I’ll have a word with the chairman tomorrow but I think it might be time for me to move on and let somebody else have a go.”
Greene - who guided the Pilgrims to the play-offs in the past two seasons - has struggled to find a winning formula this campaign.
“I’ve been thinking about it for a while, I don’t think I can take the club any further,” he added.
“You’re down to 10 men, you’ve got people abusing you, there’s nothing you can do.
“I’m really frustrated. How do I progress this club forward? I’m just not enjoying it.”
When asked if chairman David Newton can change his mind, Greene concluded: “I don’t think he can.
“I doubt I’ll be in the dug-out at Nuneaton next week.”
Meanwhile, it is believed that Boston captain Liam Agnew has broken his foot following a first-half collision with Scott Garner.
Greene added: “That’s what he feels at half time. He’s gone up the hopsital for an X-ray.”
