A lack of concentration allowed Horncastle to score again, but overall Sports thoroughly deserved the three points.

Sports were back in action last night as they hosted Harrowby United Reserves.

They will now face two tough games in the space of four days, travelling to take on last season’s champions Skegness Town on Saturday (KO 3pm) and runners-up Wyberton on Wednesday (KO 6.45pm).

Sleaford Town Reserves also began the Lincs League season by picking up three points after beating Cleethorpes Town Development Squad 1-0.

A header from Malcolm Redford proved the difference.

The Greens’ second string will be in action at Wyberton tonight (KO 6.45pm), followed by next Wednesday’s home clash against Harrowby United Reserves.
