Kendall hungry for more goals

TRINITY’S leading goalscorer Ryan Kendall has vowed to threaten the top of the Blue Square North scoring charts this season on the back of his treble at Eastwood Town.

The former Hull City trainee scooped the match ball at Coronation Park on Tuesday evening but admits to playing catch-up in the race to finish as the league’s top marksman.

He told the Standard: “The hat-trick tonight keeps me in the hunt for top scorer in the league because I’m playing catch up a little.”

“I’m getting more and more confident as the games are going on because I missed a few chances at the beginning of the season.”

“But I’m my own worst critic and I’m the first to hold my hands up and say I’ve not scored nowhere near as many but tonight I’ve got three and it boosts my tally.”

Kendall has scored nine in all competitions this season including two in the FA Cup qualifying rounds; a run he hopes to continue at AFC Telford on Saturday.

He added: “My confidence has been growing game by game and tonight will obviously help me for Saturday.”

“We’re all looking forward to it but we are not going there to just turn up on the day and get rolled over. We want to go and try win the game.”
