Kiveton start with 10 men but finish with three points

DESPITE starting the game with only 10 men, Kiveton Park brought home three points and a 4-0 win from their visit to Thoresby.

Park started the game with three at the back and coped well with early home pressure.

Thoresby’s main attacks came from long throws into the box which the away defence handled easily.

Parker only had to save on one occasion from a header.

When Harrison arrived, 10 minutes before half-time, Kiveton Park were back to full strength and went on to take control after the break.

On 65 minutes Carless chased the ball through the middle, the keeper missed it completely and the Kiveton man slotted home the opener.

Three minutes later McDonnell shot from outside the box with his left foot and watched as it deflected into the goal to make it 2-0.

Park should have scored many more but had to wait until the 84th minute when Poad picked the ball up in his own half, beat one man then threaded a neat ball through to put McDonnell clear, and he then unselfishly squared for Gorman to fire home.

Two minutes from time McDonnell rounded the keeper to score the fourth and final goal.

Kiveton Park: Parker, Gravelle, Cregan, Carless, Plant, Harrison, McDonnell, Lawton, Longmore, Gorman, Poad.
