The visit marked the announcement that the dealership on Rotherham Road is to sponsor the team for the first time this season, providing the side with their new shirts.

Stephen Eyre, general manager, said: “We are delighted and extremely proud to be sponsoring Kiveton Park football Club. We feel it is important for us to take an interest and give back to the local community and we are ready with a full tank of touchline-cheering for the team.”

The evening also saw Viv, who was awarded an MBE in 2000, host a question and answer session.

Glen Thompson, service supervisor at the dealership added: “It was great to be able to welcome Viv Anderson to our forecourt. It has been a brilliant inspiration and incentive for the girls to be able to meet someone who has actually played at international level. We are all so pleased he could come.”
