The last time these two met, earlier in the month, the match produced 10 goals, but this time round they couldn’t manage one between them.

The point for Rustons was enough to lift them off the bottom of the table, after it was added on to the three points awarded by the league’s management committee for a game that didn’t take place just before Christmas.

Brigg remain in fifth place.

Sleaford Town Reserves 1 Horncastle Town 0

In blustery conditions at Eslaforde Park, Liam Tunstall’s header proved decisive as the pacesetters took their lead into double figures.

He nodded the home side in front with 10 minutes to go as the visitors continued to struggle in front of goal.

Horncastle have scored just seven times in their 12 league games and, despite having more of the second half possession, they created very few clear-cut chances.

After Tunstall’s opener the home side sprung to life and carved open the Horncastle defence several times, but failed to add to their score.

The win extended Sleaford’s lead at the top of the table to 10 points.

Wyberton 2 Hykeham Town 1

A brace of goals from Daniel White secured three points for Wyberton, lifting them up to second in the process.

Although Hykeham knocked the villagers out of the county cup recently, this win completed a league double over the reigning champions.

Hykeham’s goal was scored from the penalty spot by Chris Funnell, his eighth league goal of the season.

Skegness Town 4 Lincoln Railway AFC 0

When these two sides met in September the Seasiders romped home 9-1.

Since then the Railmen have climbed to second in the league table, but Town derailed their four-game unbeaten run with a tidy 4-0 victory to go to third.
