Louth Town join Lincolnshire League influx

The club is one of six teams to have joined the rapidly-expanding league after a successful application, alongside Nettleham, Grimsby Borough Reserves, Harrowby United Reserves, Sleaford Sports and Immingham Town.

The White Wolves folded their successful senior men’s team last August, prompted by a raft of player departures and delays over a proposed new ground.

At the end of the 2014/15 season, the club had decided to drop down from the Northern Counties East League into the Lincolnshire League because of a funding shortfall, but then decided to delay the move for a year.

The Lilywhites picked up the Sills and Betteridge Team of the Year Award after topping the table for the second time in three years.

The club is looking for a new manager following the resignation of Nick Chapman and preparing for the season at their new home in Wainfleet Road, Skegness. Facilities at the new ground will include two pitches, floodlights, a new clubhouse and a 3G pitch.

Town will have to defend their title against 17 other teams next term.
