Joe Greswell admitted that discipline proved costly as Wyberton ended the game with eight men at Brigg Town Reserves.

The Zebras made the most of their numerical advantage as they won 3-0.

The Colts were trailing 1-0 when Jamie Elston was dismissed for comments made while being substituted.

And after the Zebras netted their second tempers flared as the away side felt the scorer was offside, Grant Butler and Daniel White both sent to the sin bin before Brigg to grabbed a third.

The Colts has earlier seen efforts from Bailey Forth and Will Britton ruled out.

"I felt we were the better side," Greswell said. "I get we lost 3-0 but with 11 versus 11 until the end, I’m sure it would of been different.

"They had the wind first half and took advantage. That’s fine as I knew we would have the same second half and get chances but, unfortunately, our discipline has let us down today and lost us the game."

Greswell, however admitted to feeling sympathy for his squad: "I do feel for my lads though as I felt we scored two perfectly good goals, and to see ours ruled out and there second given is frustrating.

"Our discipline in the last 20 mins was wrong but I kind of got it.

"I understand that my lads have sat in the car for an hour and a half. I understand that we have given it our all in tough conditions. I understand that at least one of our goals should have been given.

"All that is tough to take, but if we controlled our temper, who knows? We could have grabbed something.

"We can’t hide behind the officials as they are human and will make mistakes.

"We all make mistakes. Every official in every game makes a mistake, so we have to learn to control our temper and let our football do the talking and not lose our heads.

"Fair play to Brigg for managing the game so well."

Wyberton travel to Lincoln Moorlands tomorrow (Tuesday) for a 7.45pm kick off.

They host Lincoln United Development on Saturday (KO 2pm).
