Town were beaten 4-0 in the quarter-final tie at Immingham, who lie fifth in the Lincolnshire League, as Carl Price’s double and strikes from Daniel Scrimshaw and Jamie Glover did the damage.

Rasen have now lost seven of their last eight in all competitions and have not won in the league since the middle of October.

They sit 14th in the league and have the unenviable task of hosting title-chasing Skegness Town at Rase Park on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).

The seasiders have slipped to second in recent weeks, and were beaten 6-5 in an extraordinary result against Grimsby Borough Reserves, but lie just four points off the lead with four games in hand.

Brigg Town Reserves, meanwhile, went down 3-1 at home to new leaders Hykeham Town.

Joshua Reid gave the hosts a bright start with a 21st minute goal, but the scores were level at half-time, before two goals after the break wrapped up the points for Hykeham.

Joshua Raby, Steve Mehta and Alex Mackinder were on target for the visitors.

Brigg remain in eighth despite the defeat and travel to CGB Humbertherm on Saturday for a 3pm kick-off.
