Wyberton were beaten 4-0 at Lincs League rivals Lincoln Moorlands Railway last night.

“It’s a tough one to take as I think we played well," said manager Joe Greswell.

"Saying that we have made four mistakes and they have scored from all four, two from the spot and the rest falling asleep off throws and not doing jobs properly.

"If you give Moorlands four chances, don’t be surprised if they take all four.

In an entertaining game, Wyberton started the brighter side and for the second game in a row had a goal disallowed from a corner.

Moorlands got a grip of the game and in the eighth minuted took the lead from the penalty spot.

Wyberton forced the Moorlands keeper into a decent stop and Nicky Frost saw his effort get cleaned off the line.

When he finally found the net, it was ruled out for handball.

Moorlands doubled their lead again from the penalty spot in the 20th minute and grabbed their third just before half time.

The second half got underway with both sides picking up where they left off.

Wyberton asked questions of the Moors defence and the hosts looked dangerous on the counter.

The Colts forced the Moors keeper into a couple of saves but it was the home team who grabbed the only goal of the half.

"We have gone there without a recognised striker but hats off to Nicky Frost who did a great job up there and showed me he has no problem playing up there," Greswell added.

"We are not far from getting it right. If we played how we did, cut out the individual errors and bring our scoring boots, we will start picking up wins."

Wyberton face Lincoln United Reserves at The Causeway Saturday in Lincs League action.
