Monday Blues for Trinity

GAINSBOROUGH Trinity lost 2-1 at home to Droylsden on Bank Holiday Monday, after going down to 10 men.

Steve Housham’s side had to play for an hour without Michael Leary, who was red carded on 27 minutes.

The Blues went ahead with four minutes left in the first half, Darryn Stamp making it 1-0.

But 60 seconds later the Bloods levelled through Dale Johnson, and then got the winner from Patrick Lacey on 70 minutes.

It was Gainsborough’s first defeat in four outings, and followed Saturday’s 3-2 win over Blyth.

Those three points came courtesy of goals from Ryan Kendall, Leon Mettam and Shane Clarke.

Trinity are back in action on Saturday, when they visit neighbours Boston in a Lincs derby clash.
