More of the same, please! Greene has simple message for returning players as Boston United face Telford

'˜More of the same.' That will be the message Dennis Greene sends to his Boston United squad as they head out of the tunnel at AFC Telford United on Saturday.

A stoppage-time equaliser may have robbed the Pilgrims of all three National League North points at Nuneaton Town last weekend.

But the manager said he saw enough from that performance to travel to New Bucks Head in buoyant mood.

“We played some of our best football this season,” he said.

“More of the same and we’ll be in a good position.

“Telford have a good pitch, good crowd and it’s a place we can pass the ball.

“You’ve seen how effective we can be when we pass it, we can score goals.”

Greene may also have a smile on his face due to the prospect of five-goal striker Gregg Smith and central defender Joe Maguire both returning from one-match suspensions.

Full back Kalern Thomas should also be over the injury which sidelined him at Liberty Way, although Grant Roberts, Shane Clarke, Herve-Pepe Ngoma, Liam Agnew and Joe Burgess will not be in contention to start.

The Pilgrims’ last victory at Telford came more than five years ago, in April 2011, when Shaun Pearson’s header secured a 1-0 victory over their play-off rivals.

Since then they have suffered a 2-1 defeat in 2013 and earned 2-2 a draw last season.

The Bucks currently sit in 16th in the table, three places but just one point above the Pilgrims.

Kick off at New Buck’s Head will be at 3pm.
