More to come from ‘class’ midfielder Andi Thanoj, says Boston United boss Craig Elliott

Craig Elliott believes there’s plenty more to come from Pilgrims playmaker Andi Thanoj.

The Boston United man provided three first-half assists in Saturday’s 4-2 FA Cup victory over AFC Mansfield, and also rattled the bar with one of his trademark free kicks.

“I’ve got high standards for Andi and I think he can pay better than he did,” Elliott said.

“But he’s a class player and his free kick in the opening minutes was amazing.

“I think he’ll get better.”

Thanoj lined up as part of a new-look midfield on Saturday.

Following the departure of longstanding partner Brad Abbott, Thanoj and Tom Platt were joined by summer signing Connor Dimaio, while Paul Green made his debut off the bench.

The Pilgrims will kick off their National League North campaign at Leamington this evening, a side manager Craig Elliott says are no-longer his bogey team following his first victory over opposite number Paul Holleran last season.

The match will be played behind closed doors but fans can watch the action via live stream.
