Murray a Mansfield man again

Adam Murray’s high profile loan spell at Worksop Town has come to an end.

The midfield maestro has been recalled by parent club Mansfield Town this week, after crunch talks with boss Paul Cox, who he previously fell out with.

Murray featured in four games for Tigers, three of them victories and one a 2-2 draw at Rushall.

Although Worksop boss Mark Shaw had hoped to have the luxury of Murray’s presence in the middle of the park until January, he expressed his gratitude to the 32-year-old.

“Mansfield were always going to recall him at some stage either now at the end of this period of his loan or later on. He’s an experienced football league player who needed match fitness,” said the Tigers manager.

“He’s come in and done a fantastic job for us.”

“I’m really pleased to have had someone of his stature and ability and he has helped us get on a roll and I can only thank him a lot”

“It shows the club can attract these types of players”

Shaw insisted he won’t be going out looking for another playmaker: “I’m not looking to replace him, we are on a roll, the group are full of confidence and have high aspirations so at this point in time whilst things are going well we shall continue to do what we are doing and see what happens”
