NCEL round-up: Badgers held, Maltby mauled

RETFORD United were held by Arnold Town at Cannon Park today, in the NCEL Premier.

Brett Marshall’s title hopefuls drew 1-1 and sit second in the league table, level on points with third-placed Tadcaster and leaders Bridlington, who have a superior goal difference.

Further down the table, Steve Adams’ Maltby were thrashed 7-1 at home by midtable side Armthorpe Welfare.

The result leaves Maltby Main one place off the bottom on six points, with just Selby beneath them.

In an NCEL Division One local derby, Dinnington Town were pipped 1-0 by Hallam at Phoenix Park.

Steve Toyne’s strugglers are 18th in the table.
