Boston Town have been given a change of Lincs Senior Trophy semi-final opponents.

The Poachers were expecting to host Brigg Town in the final four of the competition, but have since been told they will face the winners of Deeping Rangers and Holbeach United, their UCL Premier rivals.

The original draw had been widely publicised over a period of several months on social media and club websites.

And when Brigg won their quarter-final on Wednesday, they immediately tweeted: “The scoreline finishes Brigg Town 5 Winterton Rangers 2, which sees the Zebras through the semi-finals against Boston Town FC.”

However, the draw on the Lincs FA website has changed.

A statement from Lincs FA said: “One of the rules of the Senior Trophy is that competing clubs are divided into geographical divisions (north and South) in all rounds prior to the final.

“Unfortunately, when the draw was made back in July, when entering the draw on the Full Time System, the IT system used to manage our cup competitions, a human administrative error occurred in submitting the draw.

“This was not picked up on until recently when the draw had reached the semi-final stage and the previous incorrect draw advertised.

“Subsequently the qualifying semi-final teams have been drawn geographically in line with the rules of the competition.

“We have apologised to the clubs for any misunderstanding and inconvenience caused.”

Boston booked their place in the semis with a 5-1 win over Blackstones, Fraser Bayliss and Alex Beck both scored twice with Harry Limb also on target.
