Nathan Collins’ side kicked off their United Counties League Premier campaign with a 2-1 defeat at Harrowby United last Tuesday, before Saturday’s last-gasp 3-2 defeat to Eynesbury Rovers.

But they are hoping their luck will change this evening, against a side who are also yet to get off the mark.

PNS have been beaten at home twice so far this campaign, two 2-1 reverses against Huntingdon and Rothwell Corinthians.

Kick off at the DWB Stadium tonight will be at 7.45pm.

The Poachers will return to action on Saturday when they host Newport Pagnell Town (KO 3pm).

Two late goals saw Town downed by Eynesbury Rovers.

The Poachers were 2-1 ahead with six minutes to go, only to see the contest turned on its head.

Fraser Bayliss put Town in front in the 31st minute, finishing off a move involving Alex Beck and Jack Wightwick.

A 73rd-minute long-ranger levelled things up, but Wightwick restored Boston’s lead in the 79th minute, firing home a free kick on the edge of the Rovers penalty area.

But two late sucker punches cost Collins’ side dear.

In the 84th minute keeper Jack Pearson missed a punch, allowing the away side to level again.

And two minutes later the stopper could only parry a long-ranger, the rebound being forced home to settle the contest.

Wightwick gave the Poachers a ninth-minute lead away at Lincolnshire rivals Harrowby last week.

However, Joe Braithwaite netted twice in the second half to complete the Arrows’ comeback.

Town and Harrowby will be getting to know each other quite well in the upcoming weeks.

The two sides have drawn each other in the first round of the Lincs Senior Trophy, having already been paired together in the first round of the United Countes League Cup.

Boston and Harrowby will meet at the DWB Stadium in the league cup on Wednesday, August 31 (KO 7.45pm) but no date has yet been fixed for the county cup tie.

Boston are scheduled to entertain Harrowby in the league on Wednesday, November 9.
