Thackley 3

Worksop Parramore 5

WORKSOP Parramore were involved in yet another high scoring thriller on Monday, as they took three points at Thackley, to remain top of the league.

The game couldn’t have started better as Lee Whittington took Lee Holmes pass and beat the keeper.

But Thackley came back with three goals in 20 minutes, Matt Mathers and Nick Matthews (2) netting for the hosts.

On 42 minutes Whittington slid in to net Holmes’ cross and bring the Parras back into the game.

The second half was all Parramore, Will McGhie levelling the game on 56 minutes from 10 yards.

And Worksop went ahead as Wes Hill fed Whittington for his hat-trick with a long range thunderbolt.

Parramore continued to push forward and were hurting Thackley down the flanks and moving the ball into the channels.

Scott Bates, a 73rd minute substitute, completed the second half demolition job as he went one on one with the keeper to seal victory 13 minutes from time.

l ON Saturday Parramore beat Bridlington 4-3 away from home with braces for Jordan Hatton and Lee Whittington.

They host Glasshoughton Welfare in the FA Vase on Friday night, and Brighouse Town are the visitors to Sandy Lane on Tuesday, both kicking off at 7.45pm.
