Pilgrims must be ready to battle - Marshall

It's time for Boston United to go to '˜battle' and end the season on a high, according to Marcus Marshall.

The winger says every game has greater significance now the season is drawing in and opponents are all scrapping for points.

“The last few games, we need to win as many games as we can,” said the former Rotherham United and Grimsby Town player.

“Everyone in this league’s battling, whether they’re battling for play-offs or to stay in the league.

“There are no easy games, we’ve just got to do the same, come prepared and be ready for a battle.

“We’ve got a few young players who are learning.

“But I think every game’s going to be a battle, we have to roll up our sleeves.

“It might be a scrappy game or whatever, we need to dig in and grind out results.”

Marshall has warned his teammates that they all still have something to take from the campaign, and that the younger players are not just fighting to help the club climb the National League North table, but also for better futures.

“Everybody’s playing for the team, but for their own agendas,” he added.

“Whether it’s for a new deal, or to move on or even if they’re playing their last games.

“Everyone’s playing for their own reasons but we all need to show what we can do.

“We’ve all got to stick together and do the best we can for the team.”
