The Boro are now one point behind Dennis Greene’s side, who occupy fifth place in the standings.

That means that United will now have to match or better Nuneaton’s result this weekend to earn their place in the play-offs.

Meanwhile, fourth-placed Harrogate, who sit a place and a point above the Pilgrims, could also miss out on the top five if Boston and Nuneaton both pick up three points and they fail to win at home to basement side Corby.

If the Pilgrims and Nuneaton both win then even a home draw may not be enough for Harrogate who would miss out on goal difference.Boston travel to mid-table Stalybridge Celtic on Saturday, while Nuneaton host relegated Hednesford Town.

All matches will kick off at 3pm.
