Players' response pleases boss Roma

The Blues boss, who made his 200th league appearance for the club in the 1-1 draw, counted up his players had amassed 20 shots on the home side’s goal.

But they only had Nathan Jarman’s second half goal to show for their efforts in Conference North game Roma thought Trinity were unlucky not to get three points.

“I don’t know how we didn’t win it,” he said. “I think we had 20 shots, 13 on target, hit the post twice, their keeper has made three or four brilliant saves. I don’t know how we’ve not won it.

“It was a massive improvement on recent games. First half I thought we moved the ball really well. Second half I thought we dominated, even before they went down to ten men. I thought it was only going to be a matter of time until we won the game. It was one of those performances from their keeper where the ball was like a magnet to him.

“I’m pleased because last week when we lost to our local rivals the young team we’ve got could have gone under but it hasn’t. We’ve picked up another point away from home.”
