Market Rasen Town remain in 11th in the Lincolnshire League, following a 4-2 home reverse against Skegness Town.

Rasen had already beaten the Lilywhites 3-2 on the road, but the home fixture saw the title chasers flex their muscles.

Skegness took an early lead through Will Britton, an advantage that was doubled as Luke Rayner-Mistry found the net. Andrew Belt gave the hosts some hope as he pulled a goal back.

However, the Lilywhites led 3-1 at the interval courtesy of a McCauley Parker free kick.

Dale Christie was again in fine form between the sticks for Rasen, but there was little he could do to prevent number four, defender Lewis King heading past his own keeper.

Late on Rasen bagged their second goal when substitute Kieran Togher stole in behind the visitors’ defence to guide the ball past Ashley Bentley.

Rasen remain three points clear of basement side Ruston Sports, although their rivals still have a game in hand.

They will now be looking to put further daylight between themselves and Sports this weekend when Skegness United are the visitors to Rase Park.

Town have already beaten their rivals 3-2 on the coast this campaign. Kick off is 3pm.
