The 21-year-old forward admits to a frustrating ‘stop-start’ season at Lincoln City.

Last Wednesday he and fellow Red Imp Nat Brown joined the Pilgrims on loan until the end of the season.

And Robinson, who netted twice in four matches during a spell with Boston last season, is delighted to be back.

“You can’t buy game time, which is what I needed,” he said.

“I was rotting away really in the stands, it’s good to be back on the pitch and doing what I do best.

“Knowing the lads, there are some old faces from last season, and it’s good to be back in the side.”

Robinson rekindled his old partnership with Dayle Southwell during the 2-1 defeat to North Ferriby on Saturday - setting his strike partner up for the opening goal and also seeing an effort strike the woodwork.

“I got the assist and it would have topped it off,” he added.

“As a forward you’ve got to have confidence you can score.

“I’ve no doubt I can bang the goals in.

“He (Dayle) is easy to play with, so hopefully I can build a strong relationship again.”

Reflecting on his time with Lincoln this season, Robinson added: “It’s been stop-start, It’s frustrating but I’ve kept working hard.

“Like any line of job, especially football, if you know you’re not in the team your mindset’s different and it can be a cold, lonely place.

“But I’ve kept belief in myself.”
