Rollins is starting to think like a forward

The Boston United attacker began the season pledging to improve his goals tally for the Pilgrims.

And so far he has been true to his word, scoring six times in 18 appearances.

He is currently the club’s joint-leading scorer - level with Gregg Smith who he teed up for Saturday’s stoppage-time winner at Telford - and has already matched the six goals he scored last season.

“I’m happy,” said Rollins, who is conjuring up the goalscoring return he had hoped back in the summer.

“I said I wanted to get amongst the goals and that’s what I’m doing now.

“Hopefully I can keep getting more.”

After spending most of last season playing out wide, Rollins has also been utlised more as a striker this season.

And he says he is enjoying changing his matchday mindset.

“I found myself getting into the box more, because that’s where you’re going to get the goals,” he added.

“That’s a striker’s instinct, if you’re hanging around the box then sometimes they’ll come to you.”

Rollins has also welcomed the return of teammate Smith from suspension, believing the target man’s burly presence helps him find space in and around the box.

Rollins continued: “We’re not the biggest side, so with him out the team we sometimes miss out on that physical side.

“So it’s always good to see him playing with you.

“We play well when we play direct, we’ve got a lot of pace in the squad.”
