Rollins wants Boston United to gain revenge on Darlington 1883

The Pilgrims went down 4-1 in the north east back in August as the new-look side struggled to get to grips with one another.

It was the team’s fourth successive competitive defeat and looked to be the fourth game in a row where they failed to even register a goal, until a moment of trickery from Rollins earned a stoppage-time consolation.

But now the attacker is keen to show 1883 that Boston are better than that performance proved.

“It’s never easy playing Darlington and I think it’ll be a tough game,” Rollins said.

“But we want to get the win over them because, at the start of the season, it wasn’t nice playing against them.”

Rollins’ goal in Bishop Auckland that day finally appeared to give the Pilgrims some confidence, and three days later they recorded their first win with a 3-0 drubbing of Tamworth.

And Rollins is adamant that finally opening the club’s account was vital for the rest of the season.

He added: “It was definitely important.

“We had a poor start to the season, we were a new team, but that was a tough game.

“Now we play them again and we’ve got to give it our all against a very good side if we want the three points.

“But I know that on our day we’re good enough.”

Rollins is the Pilgrims’ leading scorer this season, having netted 10 times prior to last night’s clash with Chorley.

After already improving upon last season’s tally of six, his first campaign at this level, the forward says he has a new-found self belief.

He added: “I always feel like I’m going to score every game.

“I always try to get at least one in every month.

“I got six last year and hopefully I can finish more.

“I think one of the things last year, I only got six goals but feel like I got a lot more chances.

“I just didn’t take them well.

“I think it’s that composure and I feel I’m getting more of it this season.

“It was my first season at this level last year and as I grew into the games, you get a bit more confident and composed.

“But it also comes in training, practising and working hard.”
